The lightness
SCOTT takes lightweight to a new level thanks to its expertise in carbon technology. For the new Addict RC , we revolutionized our approach to building carbon road bikes, drawing inspiration from techniques developed for mountain bikes. Through a meticulous re-evaluation of molding processes, we found innovative solutions to improve performance on the road. The result? A frameset that's 300g lighter than the previous model, without compromising on racing performance.
Precision engineering
Thanks to the innovative manufacturing process with PP mandrels , we achieve high-precision molding of internal surfaces and transition zones. This allows us to create tubes optimized for strength, eliminating reinforcements and unnecessary filler material. The result? Clean tube profiles and surfaces, significantly reducing the overall weight of the frame, without compromising strength or rigidity.
Furthermore, by using higher-quality carbon, reducing the number of parts and joints, and perfecting every detail, such as the seat stays and seat clamp, the team was able to further reduce weight while maintaining optimal stiffness.
SYNCROS iC-R100-SL Cockpit
The new Addict RC inspired the creation of the revolutionary SYNCROS IC-R100-SL cockpit, designed to combine aerodynamics and performance. The goal was to develop a handlebar with a discreet drop, perfectly integrated with the brake levers, to optimize aerodynamic efficiency, save watts and improve handling.
The SYNCROS integrated cockpit has been further refined to reduce weight without compromising strength. Thanks to a new stem clamping area design and an FEA-optimized carbon sheet, the overall weight has been reduced by approximately 40g while maintaining the same strength and rigidity.
